Match Tickets
These are individual match tickets and are available for all matches (1 - 64). You can purchase a maximum of 4 tickets per match for up to 7 matches.
Team Specific Ticket Series (TST)
These are ticket strips to follow the national team of your choice. Depending on which TST Series you applied for, your TST Series may include between 3 and 7 matches and you may apply for a maximum of 4 TST Series. If your team is eliminated and your TST Series includes rounds after your team has been eliminated, your TST will remain valid to follow the team that progresses into the next round of the competition as indicated below.

Ticket Categories
Tickets are available in four different categories:
Seats for Category 1 tickets are generally located alongside the pitch.
Seats for Category 2 tickets are generally located adjacent to Category 1, in the corners
Seats for Category 3 tickets are generally located adjacent to Category 2 behind the goals or in the corners
Seats for Category 4 tickets are generally located behind the goals.
World Cup 2010: Tickets Sales Approaching All Time Record - FIFA
Official ticket sales are approaching 100 per cent.
FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke has responded to a few critical World Cup issues just over a week before the tournament.
At a media briefing late on Tuesday after the Local Organising Committee had sat down in their final Board of Directors meeting before the start of the tournament, Valcke expressed FIFA’s satisfaction with the fact that the percentage ticket sales for the 2010 World Cup have surpassed that of Germany 2006 and it is edging closer towards the 100 per cent mark.
"We are getting closer and closer to the best World Cup ever in terms of ticketing, which was USA in 1994. It is an amazing result that we have in South Africa… we never expected this," said Valcke at the press conference.
Approximately 2.9 million tickets were put on sale for this year’s World Cup. Valcke, though, admitted that with such a big number of ticket sales, the biggest challenge at the stadiums will be the traffic, describing it as a nightmare.
"It is a nightmare. We must start this World Cup with a full stadium. For the opening ceremony it will start at 14:00 but people must be at the stadium by at least 13:00. It is amazing how late South Africans arrive at matches and we are hoping they will change this and arrive early," he said.
Valcke also took a swipe at critics of the Adidas Jabulani ball. The ball has come under heavy criticism from players of a number of the 32 teams to participate in the World Cup. The latest was Brazil striker Luis Fabiano, who has described the ball as "weird" and Valcke pulled no punches in his response.
"It’s a ball used which has been used by a number of teams for months since the ball was put on the market by Adidas. It’s Brazil who say that because they are afraid that they will not make it and it’ll be due to the ball. If Brazil win the World Cup playing with this ball it won’t be a problem anymore! The teams are going to play with this ball and good luck to Brazil," Valcke added.
